About Hendricks Heating and Air Conditioning.

A company history

History

Hendricks was founded in 1930 by Herman Hendricks in Grand Rapids. They originally began by installing cast iron furnaces delivered to homes with a horse and wagon.

In the 1960s, Herm Hendricks sold the business to his niece's husband, Gerald DeVries. The business moved to Grandville Avenue, where it operated for many years.

Gerald's son John, joined the business as a teenager and became a partner with Gerald in the mid-1980's. Gerald's other son Paul, joined the business in the early 1990's. The brothers operated Hendricks as partners until Paul’s retirement in 2010.

The company moved to the current location on Chicago Drive, just west of Burlingame, in 2003. In 2010, John’s son Jeff DeVries stepped into Paul’s place to partner with his dad. Father and son owned the business until Jeff’s passing in 2017.

Today, the 4th generation of family is looking forward to the future. Travis Faber (John’s nephew) and Amy DeVries Sequeira (John’s daughter) are assuming leadership with intentions to promote green energy solutions, maintaining high air quality, and always providing value for our customers.
